For 2020, Ford announced that the all-new F-Series Super Duty will come with two new engine options. The first being a 7.3-liter V8 slated to be the most-powerful in its class. The second option is the third-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8 that has been upgraded to produce more power and torque. You’ll be able to pair these two with the all-new 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission for quick and reliable power when you demand it.
The 7.3-liter V8 uses an all-new cam-in-block, overhead valve design with a cast iron block and forged steel crankshaft that delivers maximum durability in a smaller, more compact package.
The 6.7-liter Power Stroke also features some new tech. A new 36,000-psi fuel injection system has new injectors that precisely meter and spray up to eight times per stroke to control noise levels and optimize combustion.
In addition to the the two new options, Ford is offering their 6.2-liter V8 that will come standard for those interested in proven capability at an affordable price.
Ford is holding off on releasing specific power and torque numbers until later this year but they have confirmed that the new 10-speed TorqShift transmission will be available across all three engine platforms.
One of the new class-exclusives that Ford is offering on the Super Duty for 2020 is the Pro Trailer Backup Assist. It allows the driver to maneuver trailers of all sizes and styles easily using a specifically designed knob, along with the Trailer Reverse Guidance system and the truck’s built-in backup camera to show trailer angle and direction while providing steering suggestions.
