Ford GT Hits 300.4 mph in the Standing Mile

This past weekend M2K Motorsports made automotive history in Victoria, Texas when they pushed their 2005 Ford GT to a record-breaking speed of 300.4 mph in the Texas Mile. That makes their GT the fastest in the world in the standing mile and the first street-legal car to hit 300 mph in the standing mile. That’s a very impressive feat but M2K is no stranger to record-setting runs. They were the incumbent record holder going into this past weekend with a speed of 293.6 at last year’s Texas Mile.

The twin-turbo GT is making over 2000 horsepower when dialed-in to run the mile long track and you can watch the record setting run in all of its glory down below:
