No, that isn’t a typo. Ford towed a line of train cars loaded up with 42 F-150s (one for each year the F-150 has been America’s best-selling truck) and towed them with an all-electric F-150 prototype. Totaling a whopping 1.25 Million pounds. Proof that electric vehicles are here to stay if you needed any more evidence. Oh, and there’s a video:
F-150 isn’t the only platform Ford is expected to take into the all-electric market either. It is still rumored that we will see an all-electric Mustang-inspired SUV/Crossover concept before the end of 2019.
There isn’t an exact timeline on the Mustang concept or when we will actually see an all-electric F-150 hit the market but a hybrid F-150 is slated for next year. Ford only let’s on that the all-electric option will be released “in the coming years”. Here’s to hoping it’s soon, but, until then we’re stuck dreaming of all the crazy things we’ll be able to tow with it.
